Beijing Foreign Language School Affiliated to BFSU

Beijing Foreign Languages School (BFLS) is a full-time coeducational day and boarding school for primary, middle, and high school students, under the direction of Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU). BFSL specializes in foreign language instruction. Prime Minister, Zhou Enlai, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chen Yi, established the first foreign language schools in response to the great expansion of international relations and exchanges during the period of 1959-1964 in the People’s Republic of China. Geared with high foreign language proficiency acquired at our school, these students fed the growing need for multilingual professionals. In September 1959, Beijing Foreign Languages School, affiliated with Beijing Foreign Studies University, became the first language school of China. Now, the BFLS campus is situated near ZhongGuanCun Scientific and Technological Park. It covers an area of 75,300 square meters, with a floor space of about 75,000 square meters. The campus is beautiful and tranquil, equipped with extensive modern facilities such as a Teaching Building, Comprehensive Building, Gymnasium, Sports Field, Swimming Pool, Students’ Canteen, Students’ Dormitory and many more. There are advanced internet services, a modern communication system, multi-media teaching facilities, science labs and other special classrooms and facilities. BFLS consists of three teaching sections: Primary School, Secondary School and International School. There are currently 87 classes enrolling over 2700 students from home and abroad as well as 265 professional teachers and 20 international teachers under period contract.
