Continental University of Sciences and Arts

The Continental University of Sciences and the Arts is the legal figure created in 1999 by the College of Arts Foundation to be able to exercise as university higher education institution, according to the requirements of the Costa Rican State established by the National Council of Higher Education Private (CONESUP ).Its operation was approved by CONESUP in session 373 of April 22, 1999. However, the University was born many years before. His first contributions in the history of Costa Rica began when the old School of Ceramics was created, integrated by great exponents of the plastic, theoreticians and historians of the art of the time. This school subsequently joined together with three other schools to initiate the founding of the Autonomous University of Central America (UACA), the first private university in the country, which gave way to the College of Plastic Arts 1 that worked with that institution For 23 years, from October 21, 1976 until 1999, when he became independent and founded the Continental University of Sciences and the Arts (UCCART).Being one of the four founding colleges of UACA gave the merit of having one of the oldest records of the country in terms of private higher education. In addition, it covered a unique trajectory, as it is also the only private university dedicated to the Fine Arts and Music of the time to the present day.
