About the university
In 1958, Bornholm's nursing school. Before this took place the training of nurses in the hospital. If a young girl at that time wanted to become a nurse, she turned to the nurse and asked whether she could "be accepted". The students were not educated on the team, but individually. Nursing school's first student teams started on January 2, 1959. The thirteen students had to preface the program, graduating in Danish, math, chemistry and physics at sygeplejerskeforskolen on Rødkilde University. In the mid 90s there were now so many educational activities at the school that had built one floor on top of the newest wing. A building which in 1997 received Ronne municipality architecture award. In 2003 it was again necessary to expand the school. The new building represents an exciting new architecture that is linked to the other buildings of the school.
