About the university
APEC University is the first institution of Action Pro Education and Culture (APEC), founded in 1964 when entrepreneurs, merchants, professionals and men of church decide to create a non-profit entity, which promotes higher education in the Dominican Republic. It was born under the name of Instituto de Estudios Superiores (IES) and, in September 1965, it created its first Faculty with the Schools of Business Administration, Accounting and Spanish and Bilingual Executive Secretariat. In 1968, by Decree No.2985, the Executive Branch granted him the benefit of legal personality to grant higher academic degrees, with which the Institution reaches the category of University.
