About the university
The Catering & Tourism Training Institute (CTTI) was founded in 1969 by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Ethiopian Government with support from the government of Israel. The CCTI functions as an Institute of higher learning under the Ministry of Education. It is headed by a Director (Mr Ashebir Tekle), a Deputy Director, Head of Administration, Head of Academics and other departmental heads. The original objective of the institute was to produce mid-level skilled professionals for the hospitality industry. However, as demand for skilled professionals grows, the institute has added short and long term upgrading courses for workers already in the industry.
