About the university
The École Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Techniques du Theater (ENSATT), formerly called École de la rue Blanche, was founded in 1941 as the Center de formation professionnelle du spectacle and is one of the eleven national theater schools in France . It is a public institution under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Research. ENSATT is a "school-theater" where the trades of actor, administrator, costumer, cutter, technical director, playwright, director, light designer, sound designer, stage manager and scenographer are taught. To these professional teachings is added a transversal theoretical teaching: arts and humanities. The institution welcomes nearly 150 students in initial training and 120 in continuing education.
