About the university
Founded in 1983 by Professor Nesim Fintz, still acting as the Dean, EISTI is a graduate school and a non-for-profit organization. EISTI is approved by France’s Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation and authorized by the French Commission for Engineering degrees (CTI). EISTI has also been approved as a private higher educational institution of general interest by EESPIG, a French quality assurance and accreditation body recognized by the State. EISTI’s mission is to train future engineers in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science and help students to further develop their expertise across a range of leading-edge technologies and emerging sectors such as Big Data, the Internet of Things, Virtual Reality, Artificial Intelligence, Modeling, and Fintech. 2 Campuses Cergy (near Paris) and Pau (South of France) 1500 students / 245 professors and professionals 4200 Alumni EISTI is a member institute of the University of Paris-Seine together with UCP-University of Cergy-Pontoise, ESSEC Business School and 12 other higher education campuses enrolling 37000 students in Cergy. As part of the French government’s Investments for the Future program, the University of Paris-Seine was awarded Initiative for Excellence in Higher Education in 2017, which is a prized credential for French academic institutions of their capacity to develop as world-class universities. Excellence in Higher Education is a reward for campuses of excellent higher education and research institutions that focus on particularly ambitious scientific projects, while partnering with their ‘economic environment’. Excellence in French Higher Education has changed the national and international landscape of Higher Education and Research, improving its visibility and attractiveness as well as giving it a prominent position in international rankings. High standards of selection As a graduate school of engineering, the admission process at EISTI is highly selective. To enroll, students must take a standardized entrance examination carried out on a nationwide scale for both the 5-year and the 3-year engineering curricula. International EISTI’s educational choices have broadened its global dimension with its international teaching and research staff, its numerous admissions offers for international students (15 % from 45 countries) together with its overseas partnership policy. Today, internationalization is more than ever at the heart of its missions, and a priority in its development strategy. EISTI has always demonstrated a strong commitment to internationalization. Over the years, the school has built partnership agreements with more than 80 universities in 38 countries all around the world. 100 % students from engineering curriculum have at least a one semester international experience and exposure. Double degrees with academic partners: IIT Chicago, University of Montreal, National Tsing Hua University, Tianjin University, Novosibirsk State University, Osaka Prefecture University and many other top ranking universities around the world. EISTI is also involved in several Erasmus+ projects such as the International Credit Mobility scheme and the Capacity Building scheme. When they join EISTI, International Students will enjoy a warm welcome and each semester will start with an Orientation Week to get them settled into their course and student life.
