About the university
The Wilhelm Büchner Hochschule is a German university for applied sciences (Fachhochschule) in private sponsorship, based in Pfungstadt near Darmstadt, Hessen. By a decision of the Hessian Ministry of Science and Art of 28 October 2008, the Wilhelm Büchner Hochschule was recognized as a non-state university and was granted an institutional accreditation by the Wissenschaftsrat in July 2016. With more than 6,000 students (as of March 2016), the Wilhelm Büchner Hochschule is the largest private university for technology in Germany. The sponsor is the Hochschule für Berufstätige Darmstadt GmbH. It is part of the German continuing education company and is a subsidiary of the Stuttgarter Klett Group.
