About the university
Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology, usually abbreviated to DAIICT, is a premier educational institution situated in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India. It is named after the Gujarati entrepreneur and Reliance group founder Dhirubhai Ambani. It is run by the Dhirubhai Ambani Foundation and is promoted by Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group. DAIICT commenced operations in August 2001 with an intake of 240 undergraduate students for its program Bachelor of Technology in Information and Communication Technology. Subsequently, it has been expanded to include postgraduate courses as MTech (ICT), M.Des, MS(IT) and MS(IT-Agriculture), along with a Doctorate program. The first batch of DAIICT of post graduates passed out in 2004 and the first batch of graduates in 2005. In its more than eight years of operation, it has developed a very strong infrastructure with on-campus housing and high-speed LAN for internet connectivity. It is now widely rated as one of the top 10 engineering institutes in India.
