About the university
In 2013, the institute launched a pilot project called "Vision 2020" to identify and implement measures establishing Thadomal Shahani Engineering College (TSEC) as one of the top twenty research-led engineering institutes of India and among the leading thirty technical institutes in Asia by 2020. As a part of the project, the governing council as well as the Hyderabad (Sind) National Collegiate Board decided to extend full support to the institute, financially as well as operationally, and create an alumni endowment which could be used for enhancing research-based activities within the institute, tie up with renowned Indian and global universities and companies for research & exchange programs and add infrastructure for the same. It was also unanimously decided to invite renowned researchers and professors from leading universities of Mumbai and rest of the world as guest lecturers or part-time faculty to the institute, deliver distance learning courses using enhanced technology and encourage them to take up temporary or permanent positions on the institute's advisory council.
