It was a grand vision & mission of our beloved Late Sri V.Rajeshwar Rao, Founder Chairman, Vodithala Education Society, Hyderabad to provide opportunities of technical education to the students from the rural areas of our country. So when in 1985, Late Sri P.V.Narasimha Rao, Ex Prime Minister of India, who represented Ramtek constituency as a Member of Parliament, mentioned about the need of an Engineering College in a rural area like Ramtek, our founder Chairman readily accepted the challenge and established Kavikulguru Institute of Technology and Science, Ramtek on 19/09/1985. Since last 3 decades the institute has taken giant strides and reached today’s position. The Institute offers 4 year Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) courses in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engg., Computer Technology, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering and a 5 year B.Arch. course. It also offers 2 years Master of Technology in Engineering in Structures, Electronics, Heat Power Engineering, and Computer Science and Engineering. It is a matter of great pride that our Institute has been bestowed with a permanent affiliation status by the RTM Nagpur University for all the eligible Engineering courses namely Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication, Computer Technology. The institute has also been granted recognition as ‘Place for Higher Learning and Research (Research Centre)’ leading to Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering and Technology from the academic session 2016-17 onwards. This became possible due to the sustained support and encouragement provided by our managing society i.e. Vodithala Education Society, Hyderabad as also the hard work done by the staff and the blessings from all our stakeholders – parents and the citizens of Ramtek town.
