Amguri College

The Amguri College, established on 17th July, 1967 stands as the only premier institute of higher education imparting knowledge to entire Amguri locality and beyond. The college is brought under the deficit system of Grant-in-Aid in 1977 and is affiliated to the Dibrugarh University. The College is recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC) in 1988 and included in the list of institution under 2(f) and 12(B) of UGC Act, 1950. The college offers undergraduate degrees in Arts and Commerce under the affiliating university. Besides, it runs Higher Secondary course and offer plethora programmess in distance mode under Dibrugarh University Distance Education Council and Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU). The College, enriched with all round co-education activities, has its widespread fame in the entire region and has now turned into a hub of more than 1500 students from all sections of the society. The College is also well known for organizing various academic and non-academic events such as poetry and short story competition at state level, symposia, colloquia, seminars and workshops. Besides, the college invites participants from entire regions in various entry-in-services and short term career oriented programmes.
