About the university
Dimulai dari semangat dan tanggung jawab yang kuat untuk mengabdi kepada bangsa dan Negara Republik Indonesia, maka atas dasar itulah dan didorong oleh beberapa tokoh pendidikan terkemuka di Palembang, didirikan sebuah Yayasan Perguruan Tinggi Sriwijaya yang dituangkan melalui Akte Notaris Henny Jeanne Pattinama, SH Nomor 16 tanggal 21 Februari 1981. Pada tangga 16 Juli 1981 Yayasan ini mendapat Rekomendasi dari Gubernur Sumatera Selatan dengan Nomor:241-4/003640/X. Kemudian pada tanggal 8 Agustus 1981 nama Yayasan berubah menjadi Yayasan Perguruan Tinggi Palembang (YPTP) melalui Notaris yang sama dengan Nomor 11, dan selanjutnya terdaftar di Pengadilan Negeri Palembang Nomor:20/1981 tanggal 11 Agustus 1981.
