About the university
UMC was established as a manifestation of idealism and commitment of Muhammadiyah Cirebon people to continue to do good deeds, especially in the field of improving the quality of life of the community. The idea of establishing PTM (Higher Education Muhammadiyah) in Cirebon has existed since 1962 with the opening of FKIP Law and FKIP Economics. However, due to the limited human resources available at that time the implementation of the education can not be continued. After so long settling, the idea of establishing Muhammadiyah University (PTM) grew again in the Regional Deliberation of Muhammadiyah City / Kabupaten Cirebon on July 6, 1996. Following Musyda's mandate, in 1998 stand AKPER Muhammadiyah. In 1999 following the Muhammadiyah Pharmacy Academy. Had also established the School of Textile Technology (STT) Muhammadiyah, but its existence did not last long.
