About the university
Before the founding of UNIBA Surakarta, there is a long journey that must be taken. The journey is related to the historicity of Islamic educational institutions in Surakarta. At least historical journey that can be traced from the opening of the branch of the Islamic University of Indonesia (UII) in Surakarta in 1963. Parent is UII Yogjakarta. At that time, the opening of UII Surakarta branch started with the opening of the Faculty of Law. After a smooth journey, UII then developed other faculty, namely faculty of Economics, Tarbiyah, Syari'ah, and then later emerged Faculty of Medicine.
