About the university
The Conservatory "Luca Marenzio" has its seat in the center of the city, and occupies for its part an old Augustinian convent and for the other part a nineteenth-century palace, by the architect Donegani. Important renovations are currently under way by the Province of Brescia and with the substantial contribution of the Municipality of Brescia and the Cariplo Foundation, which should, in the short term, lead to the optimization of spaces for the purposes of What they are intended for. The Conservatory has three salons: the salon Pietro Da Cemmo, the salon Zanin (so named by the name of the organ builder present there), and a room made in the turret of the old part of the Conservatory; All the salons are provided with organ and piano, and one (the Da Cemmo) of two tailor pianos; Musical activities, essays, competitions, seminars, lessons of choral exercises and orchestral exercises are usually performed in the Da Cemmo showroom (which also presents problems of agility) and in the salon Zanin; Overall, the three halls are suitable for use, although sometimes they are not sufficient in relation to the many activities that need to be carried out. Some essays and concerts are also held at the Teatro San Carlino, located in another central, central part of the city.
