Riga 1 Medicine College

Riga 1st Medical College (former school) in November 2016, is celebrating its one hundred četrapatsmito anniversary. As in every historical moment, this year we recall the most important events and people who shaped the history of the college, so part of our national history as training institution is an integral part of the state and society. School historical roots in the distant past centuries - until the year 1902, when the first details of the educational institutions beginnings. As time passed, it got the Riga City Council approved the name - the Riga midwifery school (1924 - 1945). First space - in 1902 and immediately after the formation of Midwives school beginnings, new educational institution was not yet their individual buildings. Studies were used in the basement room, which was located beneath the Riga 1st Hospital Maternity Units. The first graduates - have remained the news that in 1902 the school completed 9 students in 1904 - 42, Riga 1st Hospital of 3 October 1902 management meeting minutes No. 8 says that the training of 100 pretenders, but shot only 11 schoolgirls.
