First-degree studies in International Studies in Political Science and Diplomacy are a new proposal in the offer of the University of Silesia. The main objective of the course is to educate future personnel for diplomatic posts and international institutions. The basis of the program is political science supplemented by issues from law, economics, sociology, history and psychology. Excellent knowledge of foreign languages is a priority in education. Students will have a choice of two specialisations: Government Administration and Diplomacy and Leadership in International Relations. Lectures and classes in Government Administration and Diplomacy will be conducted in two languages, Polish and English. Lectures and classes of the Leadership in International Relations specialisation will be conducted entirely in English. In addition, students will learn the basics of French and Spanish, emphasising specialised vocabulary in international relations, public administration and diplomacy. The main goal of the studies is to prepare graduates for work in government administration, the civil service and, above all, in Polish diplomatic missions, international institutions and organisations, including European ones. A cadre of specialists will help to achieve this goal. In addition to the Faculty of Social Sciences research and teaching staff at the University of Silesia, classes will be conducted by experts who work daily in international institutions, government administration and diplomatic missions. During the studies, there will also be study visits.
