The aim of the BSc studies of biotechnology is to prepare the graduates for the usage of wide knowledge of biology and chemistry as well as of fundamentals of technology in their professional life and their public life. During the studies a student acquires the knowledge of specialized disciplines that contribute to biotechnology: biodiversity of life, microbiology, cell biology, plant anatomy, histology, embryology and developmental biology, biophysics, biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics with genetic engineering, plant cytogenetics, tissue cultures, plant and animal physiology, fundamentals of bioprocess engineering, chemical analytics, entrepreneurship in biotechnology and rules of work safety in biotechnology. Modules at choice are also offered enabling the students to individualize their development according to their interests. Professional prospects: The graduates from the BSc studies are prepared for: Work at biotechnological industry and biotech-based companies Work in scientific, control or diagnostic laboratories Performing basic analyses and basic researches using biological material Operating with research apparatures and/or technological equipment Development of their own professional skills Taking up the MSc studies in the area of biotechnology and/or related fields
