The degree programme of Environmental Hazard Engineering provides students with theoretical and practical knowledge of widely understood environmental hazards. The degree programme educates experts in natural disasters and environmental hazards, including those caused by environmental degradation. The graduates will be specialists in the field of emergency management systems, geographic information systems, spatial planning and design of protection systems against geohazards. The graduates receive an engineering diploma in environmental hazards, which entitles them to enrol in Master’s degree studies. The graduates will be able to use modern technologies to minimize the effects of natural and anthropogenic disasters, and will have the knowledge to work in the field of environmental management, forecasting threats and counteracting their negative effects. Distinctive features of the studies are as follows: - the programme focused on the formation of practical skills - more than half of the classes are exercises, laboratories and field activities carried out in small groups; - a wide range of subjects to choose from - 30% of classes in the programme; - the modern programme taking into account technical achievements of Earth Sciences - good professional preparation; - part of classes conducted by practitioners - representatives of public institutions and enterprises; - opportunities to go on exchange abroad under the CEEPUS and ERASMUS+ programmes.
