Admission Requirements The following are eligible to apply to the cycle of studies that leads to the mestre degree a) Holders of a licenciado degree or legal equivalent in degrees in the areas of science and engineering; b) Holders of a foreign academic degree conferred following a 1st cycle of studies organized, in those areas, according to the principles of the Bologna process by a State that adheres to that process; c) Holders of a foreign higher academic degree, in those areas, that is recognized as fulfilling the objectives of the degree of licenciado by the statutorily competent body; d) Holders of an academic, scientific or professional curriculum vitae that is recognized by the statutorily competent body of ULHT as attesting the capacity to carry out this cycle of studies. Seriation criteria 50% mark of the previous qualification 50% marks of the curricular appreciation For candidates with no previous qualification or with no classification of previous qualification, the curricular assessment assumes the weight of 100%. Graduation Requirements To have completed a total of 120 ECTS Objectives The activities of environmental engineers currently extend to the most diverse areas and domains of social interest, from politics to technology, through economics and management. There are certainly very few sectors or specific areas of economic activity that currently neglect the positive contribution of Environmental Engineering to their progress and development. Today, in fact, rare are the social and economic institutions where the presence of environmental engineers is not noticed. This master's degree aims to create specialized senior managers, equipping them with specific technical and scientific skills to act at different levels and in different contexts in the classical fields of environmental engineering, in companies, in the State, in local authorities, and in international or regional organizations, as is the case of the European Union, the European Environment Agency or the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP). Addressees Aimed at training Engineers in the classic domains of the Environment (energy and environment; climate change; environmental management; environmental sanitation; waste management, control and monitoring of soil, water and air quality; circular economy; evaluation of environmental and social impacts), with a strong connection to the business world. Career Prospects A student who finishes this 2nd Cycle is qualified to develop work in the following areas: Planning, management and coordination; Auditing and consultancy Modeling and management of natural resources Planning and land management; Civil protection; Trade and industry; Research and teaching. In public and private educational establishments and research institutes; public and private companies; municipalities, or on a self-employed basis.
