About the university
Mälardalen University is one of Sweden’s major university colleges with 15,000 students and 900 employees. Nevertheless, the University is characterized by short distances: to society at large, between students and teachers, and to our campuses. In 1999, Mälardalen University, as the first university in the world, was environmentally certified according to the international ISO14001 standard. In addition, we were the first higher education institution in the country to be certified for our working environment. Our students are attractive on the labour market. According to the Swedish Higher Education Authority, as many as 84 percent of MDH students find a job within their area of expertise within one year after their degree. This we achieve through high-quality education and close cooperation with the community. Many study programmes are developed in conjunction with private enterprise and the public sector, and students get to experience working life already during their studies.
