Political Science and Public Administration is an academic discipline that aims to understand the historical and theoretical development of politics and the political dimensions of state, society and human relations. The development of political thought since ancient times, philosophical approaches and theoretical debates about the causes and consequences of current political practices are the subjects of this field. With its academic staff who closely follows the contemporary theoretical debates and current practices in the world and with its innovative curriculum, our Graduate Program aims to train public administrators and academicians who know how to pursue excellence in the field of politics. Our graduates can develop hypotheses by evaluating the concepts and theories of political science, public administration and international politics together. The curriculum includes two sets of elective courses one focusing on political science and the other on the administration. Students conduct studies on academic writing techniques in Research Methods and Publication Ethics course; they discuss political theories in the courses such as Political Theories, Contemporary State Systems, Current Debates in Social Science and History of Political Thought. They focus on political and administrative processes in the courses such as Governance Theories and Public Administration, Cities and Politics, Political Movements in Turkey. The seminars organized with the doyens of political science, public administration, governance, political history fields are an important feature that distinguish Cappadocia University Political Science and Public Administration Graduate Program from its equivalents.
