About the university
Vinnitsa National Medical University (VNMU) named Pirogov - higher medical institution, founded in 1921. His predecessors - Vinnitsa Pharmaceutical Institute (1921), Vinnitsa Ukrainian branch of Institute of Distance Medical Education (1930), Vinnitsa evening industrial Medical Institute (1932), Vinnitsa Medical Institute (1934). In 1960, the educational institution named after Nikolai Pirogov in 1984 was awarded the Order "Badge of Honor". Since 1994 Vinnitsa Medical Institute certified and accredited by the IV level of accreditation granted it university status. National gained university status in 2002. Rector - Vasily Moroz Maksimovic, MD, Professor, Honored Worker of Science of Ukraine, academician of NAMS of Ukraine, Hero of Ukraine.
