Poltava National V. G. Korolenko Pedagogical University

Poltava National Pedagogical University is one of the oldest universities in Ukraine. It was created July 1, 1914, when the imperial decree based in Poltava pedagogical institute. 1919 Institute was reorganized into pedagogical, 1921 - the Institute of Education, 1930 - the institute of social education, and in 1933 - again in the Pedagogical Institute, which is December 28, 1946 was named after Korolenko. Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine number 448 of December 9, 1999 at the Poltava State Pedagogical Institute created Poltava State Pedagogical University named after VG Korolenko. November 25, 2009 decree of the President of Ukraine Poltava State Pedagogical University granted national status. Currently training at the University is over 25 specialties, including 17 specialties accredited by the IV level (master), 6 - for the third level (specialist), 2 - the second level (bachelor). Total number of students of the University 2013-2014 academic year is about 6,000. The university has seven faculties and 37 departments. The educational process provides faculty total of about 500 people, including 35 doctors, professors and 235 candidates of sciences. Among the faculty - 1 corresponding member of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, 1 Honored Artist of Ukraine, 5 Honored Scientist of Ukraine, 4 Honored teachers of Ukraine, 1 Honored Master of Folk Art of Ukraine, 3 Honored Worker of Ukraine, 1 Honored Artist of Ukraine, 1 Honored worker of physical culture and sports of Ukraine, 46 people awarded with "Excellence in education of Ukraine", 6 masters of sports.
