About the university
Kharkiv National Medical University, formerly Kharkov State Medical Institute was established in 1921 at the Medical Faculty of Kharkov University and the Women's Medical University (founded 1910). The university has faculties: medical, pediatric, dental, hygienic, for foreign students. At the University are postgraduate and Educational Research Institute of Continuing Education. The scientific library has about 1 million copies. Since 2005, university studies conducted by the Bologna system. January 17 (January 29 New Style) 1805 in Kharkiv Imperial University was opened. In the first four faculties was medical. 1920-1921 biennium. - Kharkov State Medical Academy. 1921-1994 biennium. - Kharkov Medical Institute. C 1994 - Kharkov State Medical University. With 22.11.2007 g. - Kharkiv National Medical University.
