As a finance student at UW-Stevens Point, you will learn to apply strategic corporate financial management concepts, develop personal financial planning and investment strategies, and understand financial markets. You also have the opportunity to take insurance and real estate courses. The UW-Stevens Point School of Business and Economics (SBE) creates career-ready graduates. With a bachelor's degree in finance, you'll qualify for an array of leadership positions and other advanced roles in private, public and nonprofit organizations. Some finance graduates also venture into entrepreneurship, creating their own successful businesses from the ground up. You'll have the option to work across industries in positions such as: • accountant • insurance sales agent • financial analyst • real estate agent/broker • personal financial advisor • auditor • personal banker/banking sales staff • financial services sales agent • payroll specialist Learn to strategically manage financial resources to drive individual or organizational success. Students take courses in business, corporate finance, financial markets, personal finance, investments, financial planning, insurance, real estate and strategy. These classes improve technical skills and critical thinking, and foster the decision-making skills necessary for a variety of financial management positions.
