The art of film. The business of film. At Watkins, we believe you can—and must—learn to excel in each. In our Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film program, you will discover your voice and learn to tell stories that move, captivate, and inspire audiences. You also will gain the practical skills you need to thrive as a filmmaker in a competitive marketplace. As you explore this art form, you will: learn to decipher the physical and metaphysical aspects of the world around you master basic techniques of writing, producing, shooting, and editing conceptualize, represent, and embody your insights in narrative films, documentaries, music videos, and web series Along with the artistic exploration of film, you will learn the business side of launching a successful and profitable career. Much of your study will delve into the development, financing, and promotion of your work.
