About the university
University of the Bolivarian Military of Venezuela (UMBV), is a National Experimental University of Venezuela, which operates under the military education of the Nation, and is attached to the Ministry of Popular Power for Defense. It was founded by decree of the Venezuelan national executive during the term of President Hugo Chávez, specifically under Presidential Decree No. 7.662 dated September 3, 2010, and published in the Official Gazette of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela No. 39,502 of that same date. Once the UMBV was created, it was left to the Ministers of Popular Power for: Defense, University Education, and Planning and Finance to unify all educational institutions of a military nature
