With these bioresources as materials, the program is engaged in the study of biofunctions, such as genes, enzymes, proteins, and metabolic products at the molecular level and promotes applied research based on the findings of such studies. Furthermore, it conducts research into ways of maintaining harmony with the environment through practical research of the utilization of effective microorganisms and preservation efforts for valuable botanical resources.
