Students will study a diverse range of exciting subjects such as the environment and how it influences human health and the spread of disease; the use of safety equipment in environmental monitoring; industrial, commercial and housing development; water supply and safety; food production and safety; occupational health and safety; air, water, soil, radiation and noise pollution; disease control; health surveillance and research; health improvement and community development; waste management; pest control; accident and disaster control; transport safety; risk management; adherence to environmental laws and regulations; and public relations. Upon completion of this programme, students will be qualified to identify, assess, reduce and eliminate risk in various potentially hazardous situations and environments; effectively reduce, prevent and eliminate the risk of accidents and injuries at home, in the workplace and beyond; and recommend ways that the general public can be protected from potentially hazardous situations.
