North African Higher Institute of Optics and Optometry ISMOO

The project to create a diploma in optics and optometry is essentially aimed at training optometrist opticians capable of acting as an interface between the ophthalmologist and the patient. The recipients of this training will therefore be called upon to manage their own pharmacies or to collaborate with other colleagues: creation of new jobs. This is an area that is experiencing strong growth linked to demographic growth and, on the other hand, to visual demands that are increasingly important in the life of our modern society, which tolerates no visual impairment . The objectives of the training of optics and optometry are: Promote the optometric qualification of the Moroccan optician as well as his aptitude in contact optics and bring it to the international level required. To provide the Moroccan optician in the fields of optometry, contactology and eyewear of a higher education by contributing to the creation of a standard comparable to that which exists in countries with a great experience in the field of optics. The Institut Supérieur Maghrébin d'Optique et d'Optométrie (ISMOO) is a private higher education institution providing optics training since 1998 under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research (authorization to practice: Decision No 133/98). To achieve its goal, ISMOO has not made any effort to guarantee its students the means that guarantee them a quality training. On the practical side, it has equipped the laboratories of eyewear, contactology and optometry with state-of-the-art equipment. From the theoretical point of view, advanced teaching is provided by eminent university professors or by optometrist opticians with significant professional experience.
