The focus of the Furniture Design program is the design of furniture products that can be produced by manufacturing technology. The program is solidly based upon the broad curriculum of the foundation program, intensive and rigorous design studies, with the general education, including the importance of art history, and its traditions for the contemporary designer. The course requirements of the program include the studies or ornamentation, sketching, and product presentation, detailing and wood furniture construction, computer applications and capstone. In addition, up to five elective courses and an internship program can be taken to enhance and bring professional experiences for the student’s career.
