The master’s program in Linguistics offers students in-depth study of selected linguistic topics such as syntax, semantics and psycholinguistics. The program also includes an introduction to research methods in linguistics, and to problems in the philosophy of science as applied to linguistics, preparing the student for linguistic research. The program offers solid coverage in the core areas of the discipline in its teaching and research: phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics, alongside language acquisition and development, historical linguistics, and contact linguistics. The program offers students to engage cognitive science, computational and quantitative linguistic analysis, and the revitalization and documentation of endangered languages. Students will develop a scientific understanding of linguistic theory as well as an appreciation for the relationships between language and culture. Special focus is paid to studying the workings of modern and ancient languages. Students must undergo a pre-graduation internship and defend a graduation thesis in order to receive a degree. Upon the successful completion of the programme, graduates can pursue their career in private and public schools, universities and community colleges, educational organizations, international companies (copywriter, editorial assistant, reporter, managing editor or technical writer, speechwriter, interpreter) and etc. https://wcu.edu.az/en/pages/view/entryrequirent
