Lankaran State University

Lankaran State University, founded in 1991 as a branch of Baku State University, was reformed as an independent state university in 1992. Students and teachers take an active part in Republican and International knowledge competitions and sports events, also the university is an initiator and active participant of a number of socio-political and cultural events. LSU is a member of Associations of the State Universities of Caspian Region Countries, the Euroasian Universities, Azerbaijan-Russia Higher Educational Institutions and Caucasus University, the university has developed educational and scientific relations with more than 50 foreign universities and signed bilateral agreements. University has conducted student and teacher exchange programs with many foreign universities. Currently, education and research activities are carried out in 4 faculties and 13 departments: FACULTIES - Natural Sciences Faculty - Humanitarian Faculty - Economics and Management Faculty - Agriculture and Engineering Faculty DEPARTMENTS - Mathematics and Informatics - Chemistry and Physics - Biology and medical knowledge - Geography and Ecology - History and methods of its teaching - Azerbaijani language and literature and methods of their teaching - Foreign languages - Primary Education and Pre-School Teaching - Humanitarian Subjects - Management of finance and audit - Economics and innovative managment - Technology and technical subjects - Veterinary and agricultural subjects LSU is an educational institution developing with openness to public, transparent management, student-oriented education, modern dormitories, service aparments for newly attracted professor-teaching staff, experimental fields, modern educational laboratories, tourism-practice centre, educational process based on objective knowledge, developing in the field of research and education based on international experience, prepearing highly qualified specialists. Every year organizes “Alumni Fair”, participates in international programs and projects, has joined to the QS World Rankings. LSU with over 300 faculty and teaching staff serves to about 3800 students with 4 faculties, 13 departments, 29 specialties for undergraduate majors, 17 specialties for master's degree, 17 specialties for doctoral and dissertation education.
