It was established in 1950 as Azerbaijan Polytechnic Institute with 4 faculties and was later renamed to Azerbaijan Technical University in 1993. The interview is conducted in order to determine the level of language proficiency of the candidate for a specific program and to learn more about his/her academic interests. Applicants who do not meet the language requirements can be admitted to the Foundation Courses offered by the university.
