About the university
The political decision for the twofold career in the police and the associated cessation of training for the middle-class service, as well as the need for constant adjustment and improvement, required a new development of advanced training. The training courses offered so far at the university and the preparedness police were summarized, supplemented and adapted to changed conditions. This was implemented by the establishment of a training institute for the police in the State of Bremen at the College of Public Administration in the police department. In order to ensure the organizational autonomy of the advanced training, It was in the form of the independent operating unit according to § 47 HfÖVG in connection with § 94 BremHG in the version of 20.12.1988, BremGBl. 1989, p. 25. It works closely with the training but remains autonomous in the implementation and has its own budget.
