About the university
The Faculty of Philosophy and Theology in Vallendar is a church and state-recognized academic college of the Pallottines. The name "Pallottine" goes back to the founder of the Catholic religious community Vinzenz Pallotti (1795-1850). This is why the university is committed to making academic studies holistic; Through the formation of the personality, through meditation, liturgy, retreats, through the possibilities of dialogue between teachers and students, through the self-organization of the student body and the shaping of the university. Since the winter semester of 2006 there is also a nursing faculty. The current rector is the church historian Paul Rheinbay. The Faculty of Philosophy and Theology Vallendar maintains contacts with the neighboring economic college WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management, the University of Koblenz and the University of Koblenz.
