About the university
The Fachhochschule für Rechtspflege Nordrhein-Westfalen is an administrative college of North-Rhine Westphalia in Bad Münstereifel. It was founded in 1976 as a successor to the Rechtspflegerschule Bad Münstereifel and is divided into the specialist areas of legal administration and the penitentiary system. The task of the Fachhochschule is the training of the officials of the higher service in the courts and public prosecutors, in the administration of justice and in the penitentiary. Since the course, including the practical courses, is at the same time a preparatory service for the respective career, the students are selected by the responsible employment authorities, the Oberlandesgerichte of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia in Hamm, Düsseldorf and Cologne. With an accredited career, the students of the Faculty of Law are awarded the academic degree of a Diplom-Rechtspflegers (FH) and those of the Faculty of Prisons of a Diplom-Verwaltungswirt (FH). By surrendering this diploma, the civil servant's relationship is terminated by revocation, and they are appointed to probation.
