About the university
The Fliedner Fachhochschule Düsseldorf (FFH) is a young private, state - recognized university of applied sciences in Düsseldorf - Kaiserswerth and is rooted in the education tradition of the Emperor 's Diakonie . The Fliedner Fachhochschule emerged as a logical consequence of the needs of this large institution and on the basis of the demands of the general public for more academicisation of the nursing care and out-of-school education. Its name is reminiscent of the founder of the Emperor's diocony, the first Deaconess institution in Germany, Theodor Fliedner . The FFH teaches health care and nursing science , functional areas of health care, education and social work as well as functions for management, counseling, teaching and academic professional practice. The courses are aligned with the current requirements of the labor market and the theory is coordinated with practice in all courses. The university building is located on the historical defensive wall . In 2012, it was a historic building, supplemented by a modern extension. The Fachhochschule is connected to the Düsseldorf city center via the subway line U79 (stop "Klemensplatz").
