Founded in 1918, Hebrew University of Jerusalem is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the the urban setting of the medium-sized city Jerusalem (population range of 500,000-1,000,000 inhabitants). Officially accredited/recognized by the Ministry of Education, Israel, Hebrew University of Jerusalem (HUJI) is a large (enrollment range: 20,000-24,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Hebrew University of Jerusalem (HUJI) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. Hebrew University of Jerusalem has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades.
