The program in Evolutionary Biology and Ecology is structured in three years and offers a unique multidisciplinary training experience leading to a Doctorate degree. The Biology Department in partnership with private and public institutions in the Rome area have formed a Program that crosses traditional disciplinary boundaries to offer the student the appropriate multidisciplinary research training and to enrich the plurality of knowledge. The Scientific Board is made of experts of various scientific fields and graduate students can select from research opportunities in areas as diverse as Anthropology, Applied Biology, Applied Biochemistry, Botany, Ecology, Genetics, Microbiology, Parassitology, Physiology and Zoology. Graduate students are expected to devote their full time to research and study. The main goal of our program consists in enabling students to become independent, creative, and productive researchers by cultivating their skills in a multidisciplinary environment. The access to the PhD is managed through a public selection, usually based on qualifications and exams. For the assignment of positions and scholarships candidates will be evaluated according to the exam/s results and the qualifications indicated in the specific PhD sheet; after the evaluation, the scholarships made available by the University will be assigned according to a ranking list.
