About the university
he Academy of Music, Theater and Fine Arts of the Republic of Moldova is the successor of the State Conservatory of Chisinau founded in 1940 and of the musical education institutions that have been working in Chisinau since 1919, when at the initiative of G.Enescu Established Conservative Unirea . Throughout its history, the institution has changed its name and structure several times. Initially the Conservatory was studying only in the field of music. At the end of the 1950s the first groups of students were established in the Acting Academy in 1965, already at the State Institute of the Arts (formed on the basis of the Conservative in 1964), the director and the actor's arts were created , and in 1988 the art faculty Theatrical Theater (now Theater, Film and Dance). The Faculty of Fine Arts was founded in 1984. In its present form, the Academy of Music, Theater and Fine Arts was established on the basis of the reorganization of the State University of Arts (set up by joining the G.Musicescu Music Academy and the State Institute of Arts in 1999) on September 1, 2002. At present, the Academy of Music, Theater and Fine Arts covers all areas of artistic academic and postgraduate education.
