About the university
Comrat State University ( gg : Komrat Devlet Universiteti) is a multi-disciplinary higher educational institution in Moldova , which operates in accordance with the Law on Education of the Republic of Moldova and coordinates its activities with the Ministry of Education of the Youth of the Republic of Moldova. The university is located in Comrat and is the legal successor of the Gagauz National University, which was opened by a joint decision of the All-Russian Education Foundation and the Executive Committee of the Comrat District Council of People's Deputies on February 11, 1991. The language of instruction is Russian, the classes are also conducted in Romanian, Gagauz, Bulgarian, English. The first rector of the university was the founder of the Gagauz literature Ivan Petrovich Kristioglo ). At present, the rector is Zakhariya Sergey Konstantinovich.
