About the university
Østfold University College is a state college in Norway, established on 1 August 1994. The university college has close to 6,000 students and 510 employees. It is one of 24 state colleges in Norway and is a result of the fact that five state colleges in Halden, Sarpsborg and Fredrikstad were merged as part of the university college form in 1994. The five colleges that were merged were Østfold Nursing School (established in 1955), Halden University of Applied Sciences (Established 1963), Østfold Engineering College (Establish 1965), Østfold District College (1977) and Østfold Protective School (Established in 1980).
