About the university
The National University of San Martín - Tarapoto, was created by D.L. No. 22803 on December 18, 1979 in the city of Tarapoto, ratified by Law No. 23262 on July 18, 1981. In April 1982 the UNSM-T formally began its academic activities with the Professional Careers of Agronomy, Agroindustrial Engineering, Engineering Civil and Obstetrics. UNSM-T is an autonomous and state-owned Higher Education Center committed to the training of humanistic and competitive professionals with social responsibility and committed to local, regional and national development through the generation of knowledge, technologies and innovation, Within the framework of a culture of values, in the process of accreditation and permanent updating. In recent years, UNSM-T has grown satisfactorily in infrastructure, library implementation and laboratory equipment, both in Tarapoto and in its Rioja, Moyobamba, Lamas, Juanjui and Tocache headquarters; Providing a better service to the university community and the society of San Martín.
