About the university
The National University of Ucayali was created by Decree Law No. 22804 of December 18, 1979; During the Military Government of General Francisco Morales Bermúdez Cerruti; Initially with the name of National University of Pucallpa. By Law No. 23261 of July 16, 1981, the democratic government of Architect Fernando Belaunde Terry ratified the creation of the National University of Pucallpa. On December 9, 1983, the current University Law No. 23733 comes into force. Article 97 states that from now on the National University of Pucallpa will be called the Ucayali National University; Also, its regulation is elaborated, by means of which its academic regime is organized with (03) Faculties.
