National University of Santa Chimbote

The National University of Santa, created by Law No. 24035 of December 20, 1984, is a legal person under public law. It is governed fundamentally by the Political Constitution of Peru, University Law No. 30220, the Statute and its Regulations. The National Santa University is an academic community oriented to research, teaching, cultural extension and social projection that provides a humanistic, scientific and technological training with a clear awareness of our country as a multicultural reality. It adopts the concept of education as a fundamental right and essential public service. It is composed of teachers, students and graduates. Since its inception, the National University of Santa has been conceived as a university for development, with a clear awareness of its commitment to social welfare and justice, its respect for science and culture and the need for its contribution to the progress of the Recognizing the imprescriptible values ​​of freedom and human dignity, the foundations of the national culture that make the identity of the Peruvian people, and the harmonious integration of the social sectors that compose it. The National University of the Santa has its soothes in the district of New Chimbote, province of Santa, department of Ancash; For the accomplishment of its aims it has academic-administrative units. The National University of the Santa is identified for all official acts as SANTA NATIONAL UNIVERSITY, whose acronym is UNS and its logo is the figure of Punkurí, within an oval strip with the words UNIVERSIDAD NACIONAL DEL SANTA CHIMBOTE-PERÚ. On December 20 of each year it is declared "National Santa's Day", in commemoration of the promulgation of Law No. 24035¸ law of creation of the University.
