About the university
The National Amazonian University of Madre de Dios was created by Law No. 27297 dated July 5, 2000; With the purpose of providing quality university level educational services (professional training, research, social projection and university extension), with the professional careers of: Agroindustrial Engineering, Forest Engineering and Environment, Ecotourism, and the Professional Career Education with Mathematics and Computer Science; The Natural Resources and Environmental Research Institute is created. Law No. 29371 of 2009 amends article 3 of Law No. 27297, Law of creation of the National Amazonian University of Madre de Dios, and it creates 6 more professional careers, among them: Nursing, Engineering Systems and Informatics, Administration and International Business, Accounting and Finance, Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics, and Law and Political Sciences . Currently, the National Amazonian University of Madre de Dios is working with 3 Faculties, of which there are 10 Professional Careers, with a population of 2,939 students at the end of the first academic semester of 2016-I.
