About the university
On February 13, 1962 , Law No. 14015 was enacted, establishing the Technical University of Cajamarca, and on July 14 of the same year it began its operation, with a planning of six Schools, Rural Medicine, Agronomy, Veterinary Medicine, Pedagogy, Mining and Metallurgy, Economics and Business Organization; In our days it has another normative structure, based on the academic formation, investigation and social projection; With ten faculties, Education, Engineering, Agricultural and Forestry Sciences, Health Sciences, Economics, Accounting and Administration, Social Sciences, Veterinary Sciences, Animal Science, Human Medicine and Law and Political Science, This Higher House of Studies has gradually acquired a place thanks to the tenacity and dedication of its authorities teachers, students, graduates and servers that year by year, in the various facets and disciplines are deservedly increasing its presence. In addition to its own university community, the cloister has received the generous and brilliant contribution of intellectuals and teachers, with the help of institutions of science, technology and culture, both in our country and abroad.
